Gyeongsangbuk-do recently conducted its 2023 Company Happy Monitor Meeting at Hotel Geumosan in Gumi on November 2, 2023, to strengthen communication with companies. The meeting was attended by around 50 individuals, including affiliated government officials, representatives from investment companies in the province, and those from companies that applied for local investment stimulation subsidies.
The Company Happy Monitor program, established in 2010, facilitates regular communication with investment companies in Gyeongsangbuk-do. This initiative allows the provincial government to directly address companies’ grievances and difficulties and work toward effective solutions. This year, over 350 problems were resolved, with a total of 235 individuals serving as company happy monitors.
The meeting agenda included the appointment of new company happy monitors, special lectures by industry experts, an overview of the investment subsidies system, and an open forum for listening to and discussing companies’ challenges.
The company happy monitors newly appointed are Woo Kyung-soo, Manager of WOOJIN Industrial Systems in Gimcheon; Kang Woo-sang, Manager of COMA Technology, and Ji Hyun-sang, Assistant Manager of JAHWA Electronics in Gumi; Kim Kyung-tae, Director of DONGCHEONSU, and Park Se-hoon, Team Manager of AVACO in Sangju; and Ahn So-jin, Section Manager of IPTEC in Goryeong.
During the meeting, Kim Kwang-seok, Executive Director of Woojin Industrial Systems, an electric bus company in Gyeongsangbuk-do, delivered a special lecture on the “understanding of the electric car business,” receiving significant attention and positive responses from participating companies.
In addition, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation explained the requirements, procedures, and other detailed information of an investment subsidy program for companies considering a return to the domestic market, providing a valuable opportunity for companies to address questions about the subsidy and encourage reinvestment.
Finally, in the listening session led by Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion Office Hwang Joong-ha, companies openly shared the challenges they face on-site.
Gyeongsangbuk-do said it provided quality jobs to 1,318 individuals by allocating around KRW 1.32 trillion to 22 companies through the local investment stimulation subsidy program from last year to the third quarter of this year.
Hwang said, “We will exert our utmost efforts to foster a favorable environment for companies to invest through active communication and cooperation with central ministries, such as the Office for Government Policy Coordination, to tackle issues that go beyond the scope of local government resolutions.”
