Welcoming June, the Month of Making a Trip, Gyeongsangbuk-do sets out attracting travelers with various discounts of travel package and events aiming at catering for increased travel demand of the people after lifting of social distancing.
The month of making a trip (June 2 to 30) is a special travel campaign carried forward by collaboration of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , local governments across the country, and travel industry for returning to a healthy life style and revitalizing the regional economy through domestic travel, thereupon promoting discounts of various travel packages and diverse events.
Above all, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government, establishing ties with Korean Railroad Corporation, will pay the travel subsidy to the travelers visiting the Gyeongbuk region by KTX train through the program of the Eco-Friendly Train Trip Bounding for Gyeongbuk.
If you arrive at 7 train stations** in the Gyeongbuk region by trains of KTX-EUM(Jungang Line) and KTX(Gyeongbu Line)* to enjoy your trip and post proof shots with payment receipts of entrance fee for tourist spot, accommodation fee, food and beverage of more than 10,000 Won, we will pay every adult a Rail Plus Card (issued by KORAIL) with the travel subsidy of 15,000 Won for Jungang Line, 25,000 Won for Gyeongbu Line, and 20,000 Won for Dongdaegu Station.
* The departure station (8 stations): Seoul, Gwangmyeong, Cheongnyangri, Cheongan-Asan, Osong, Suwon, Daejeon, Busan
**(Andong, Yeongju, Punggi, Gimcheon-Gumi, Singyeongju, Pohang, Dongdaegu)
To the children including the elementary school student the travel subsidy of 10,000 Won will be paid for all the railway routes, and the railway fare will be discounted by 10% additionally to all the passengers.
In order to receive the train trip subsidy, click Gyeongbuk Tourism tab at the KORAIL website or KORAIL Talk App and make reservation of the train ticket whose advance sale is available from June 2 through the event product.
The advance sale is valid until August 31 and you can enjoy your train trip by the end of September.
Next, the discount coupon of accommodation will be provided to the tourists using the accommodations in the region with 2022 Korea Grand Accommodation Fair - Region (Gyeongbuk Part).
The Provincial Government, in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization, will offer the discount coupon of 50,000 Won to the customers making reservation for accommodations of more than 70,000 Won in the Gyeongsangbuk-do.
To enjoy the discount benefit of accommodation, you need to get a discount coupon issued from 10:00 a.m. every day on the 24 online reservation channels including Yanolja, Yeogiuhtte, ELEVEN STREET, INTERPARK, and WEBTOUR from 3 days from the 7th to the 9th of this month and then make a reservation for the accommodation within 21 hours (until 7:00 a.m. of the following day).
The period available for the accommodation is from the 7th of this month to the 14th of the coming month.
Gyeongsangbuk-do plans to issue totally 15 thousand discount coupons by investing the budget of 300 million Won for supporting the travelers visiting Gyeongsangbuk-do to stay comfortably in the region enjoying the discount benefit of accommodation fee.

To the travelers who have failed to make reservations within the reservation period of Regional Part, Korea Tourism Organization shall offer a separate discount coupon of 30,000 Won from the 10th to 20th of this month so that they can make reservations for accommodations during this period.
The available period is till July 14, which is as same as that of the Regional Part.
In addition, for the working people throughout the country who come on vacation to Gyeongbuk area, the Provincial Government will also implement the project of supporting vocation bonus to the working people.
The project of supporting vocation bonus to the working people is intended for the working people of medium enterprises, SMEs, small business owners, non-profit non-government organizations, social welfare and medical corporations and the limit of individual support is discount of purchasing price of commodity by 50% up to 50,000 Won.
Especially, in case of traveling to Uljin which suffered from damage of forest fire this spring, the maximum benefit shall be 100,000 Won for helping recovery of the regional economy.
Any working people planning a travel to Gyeongbuk can access the Special Site of Gyeongbuk Tourism Products on ‘Vacation Shop Online Mall(vacation.benepia.co.kr)’without separate application procedure and select travel packages and then they can buy the relevant items immediately at a discounted price.
Discount of products are divided into 3 parts of accommodations, package and traffic, and with participation of 8 affiliated companies including sites specializing in travel and Yeogiuhtte and more than 4,000 accommodations, you can enjoy a discount benefit no matter where you may travel among 23 cities and counties of the Gyeongbuk Region.
You can purchase the products until June 30, which is available until July 31.
Meanwhile, a camping program is also arranged as the number of camping people has increased.
The Solbat(Pine Grove) Camping Site of Gusan Beach in Uljin plans to hold ‘the Pet Camping for Supporting Recovery of Damage from Uljin Forest Fire’with pets for 2 nights and 3 days from the 3rd of this month, thereby presenting a nice seascape and diverse events to the camping people and their pets.
Especially, we plan to donate the total amount of the camping entry fee for the project of damage restoration from the forest fire of Uljin, including a message of supporting the restoration.
In addition, you may participate in the online event of Where have you been up to in Uljin?! which has been progressing from the 18th of the last month by posting the travel photography (tourist attraction, accommodation, restaurant, cafe et al) after you have made a trip to Uljin.
