SEOUL, Sept. 15 (Yonhap) -- POSCO, the worlds fifth-largest steelmaker, said Wednesday that it will acquire a 8.94-percent share in an Australian mine, a deal that will guarantee stable access to raw materials.
The nations No. 1 steelmaker has signed a deal to acquire a 14.9 percent stake in CAML Resources, the biggest shareholder of Foxleigh mine in Queensland with 60 percent. The 15 billion won (US$13 million) deal enables POSCO to own a portion of shares in Foxleigh mine.
